The collection

Every window in the new build, answered.

From view-preserving screens on the open-plan glass to true blockout where you sleep — one coherent specification for a whole new home.

Built for The Wilds

More glass than any generation of Pretoria home before it.

Newer estate homes like the ones going up across The Wilds are built around open-plan living, double-volume glazing and sliding walls onto the patio — a very different brief to the smaller punched windows of an older Pretoria suburb, and one that changes what actually works on the glass.

  • Bigger, unbroken glass runs mean wider spans per blind — measured and specified for the exact sizes here, split or motorised where a single fabric width won't reach.
  • Highveld summer sun on open-plan living walls pushes heat straight into the room by early afternoon — sunscreen fabric and, on the worst elevations, an outdoor screen or awning stop it before it lands.
  • Afternoon storm season (roughly October to March) brings the highveld's fast-building thunderstorms — anything exterior on the patio side is worth wind-sensored motorisation, not a hand crank.
  • Cool highveld mornings and the odd winter frost make cellular blinds' insulating air-cell worth having in bedrooms and the room above the garage.
THREE O'CLOCK, WEST GLASS

Specified for light, not for looksDrop a sunscreen down the west glass and the afternoon sun patch retreats off the floor while the view stays. One coherent fabric and colour specification, fitted panel by panel across a whole new home — not patched together room by room.

Questions

Asked at almost every measure.

Our windows are bigger than a standard size — is that a problem?+

No — everything is made to measure for the exact opening, including the wide sliding-door runs and double-volume glass common in newer estate homes. Where a single fabric width can't span the opening cleanly, we split it with a central join or motorise linked blinds instead.

What actually works on a west-facing open-plan living wall?+

In order of effect: an exterior screen or awning stops heat before it reaches the glass, sunscreen fabric inside cuts glare and load while keeping the view, and motorisation with a sun sensor means it happens on schedule whether you're home or not.

Is motorisation worth it in a new build, or a gimmick?+

If you're still at plaster stage, wiring motors in is straightforward and avoids visible cabling. On wide sliders, high glass and multi-blind walls it's the difference between blinds you actually use and blinds you don't — and wind-sensored motors are genuine protection for anything exterior in storm season.

What does the quote cost?+

Nothing. The in-home measure, the fabric samples, the consultation and the written per-window quote are all free, with no obligation.

Are your blinds safe for small children?+

Chain and cord tensioners are fitted as standard on anything corded, and we'll steer nurseries and kids' rooms toward wand, cordless or motorised options with nothing dangling within reach.

Will you repair blinds you didn't supply?+

Yes. Snapped cords, a tube that won't hold, a tired tilt mechanism, blinds knocked loose when a room was painted — we restring, refit and replace parts on existing blinds too. Where a part is genuinely obsolete we'll tell you straight rather than chase it for weeks.
